Regulation for Physical Education Lessons

 

A.    General regulations

1.     Students should be dressed in P.E. uniforms and line up in basketball court/school hall ten minutes after the bell has rung.

2.     Students should put on prescribed school P.E. uniforms during lesson time.

a.     Summer :    T-shirt prescribed by the school, dark blue or black pant, suitable sports shoes and socks.

b.     Winter :       Over the summer P.E. uniform, students should wear the prescribed school track suit.

3.     No pullovers or coats are allowed.

4.     P.E. lessons will be held in the covered playground or the school hall in rainy days. Students should bring their P.E. uniforms as usual.

5.     Forgetting the P.E. kit or equipment will result in the deduction of marks in P.E. attitude (15%).

6.     Students without the P.E. kit should observe the following:

a.     do the warm-up exercise;

b.     serve the others, e.g. getting the equipment , taking records, etc.;

c.     complete the physical fitness test, if necessary;

7.     Students should not put on ornaments during lesson time. Wallets, purses, watches or expensive items may be kept in the lockers inside changing room and returned at the end of the lessons.

8.     It is preferable to avoid wearing glasses unless they are absolutely essential.

9.     Students should not leave the venue where lessons are held without permission from teachers. In case of accident or students not feeling well, teachers should be informed at once.

 

B.       Rules for requesting absence from lesson

1.     P.E. is a compulsory subject. Absence of P.E. lessons without reason is prohibited.

2.     If students need to be permanently excused from P.E. lessons, a medical certificate from a registered doctor must be provided at the beginning of the school year, together with a letter from the student’s parents.

3.     a.     If a student needs to be temporarily excused from P.E. lessons, a medical certificate and a parental letter (or message on handbook with parent’s signature) must be provided before the lesson concerned.

b.     If a student feels sick before a lesson, a parental letter (or message on handbook with parent’s signature) must be provided as soon as possible.

4.     If a student is to be excused for more than two cycles, a medical certificate is required.

 

C.       Rules for the general use of equipment, apparatus and venues

1.     Keep the venues and changing rooms clean and dry.

2.     Prior permission from P.E. teachers is required for the use of P.E. equipment or enters the P.E. storeroom.

3.     Students should return the equipment to their proper places after use.

4.     Be careful when using the equipment, apparatus and venues. Any damages should be reported to the P.E. teachers at once.
