Biology is the study of organisms (living things), plants and animals - past and present - and in all their forms.

Biology is a subject with a lot of branches. Biology helps you to answer the following questions.

What are the basic units of life?

What sort of groups can we put living things in?

How do living things get on with each other? How do they cope with the environment?

How do living things obtain and use energy?

How do living things work? What things do they do?

How do living things reproduce, grow and change over time?

A great deal of the lessons will involve experimental work. Using observation and testing, students develop a range of practical skills, ranging from experiments, visits, field works and projects. The practical work also allows students to pursue investigations, complements the theory and aids their understanding of the biological concepts.
